The Snowking XV Winter Festival Opening Fireworks

Every year there is an event of giant icy proportions that happens in Yellowknife like no other event on the continent (and perhaps the world). That event is the annual Snowking Winter Festival out on Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories of Canada. On Fenruary 28, 2010, the Snowking officially opened the Snowking XV month long winter festival to hundreds of onlookers with an intense display of fireworks that rocketed high above the Snow Castle. The Snow Castle will be open from March 1 to March 28. You can view the schedule of events on the Snowking website: www.snowking.ca. Check out the photos below the video below.
