The Canada Post Office in Yellowknife
Posted on 23. Jul, 2009 by Shane in Buildings and Structures, Business, Sightseeing, Yellowknife
The Yellowknife Canada Post Office at 50th Avenue and 49th Street sits at the busiest foot traffic intersection in the city. It is one of those places where people come together to meet, to people watch, to relax, to get their mail, to send mail or simply walk by to get where they are going. Why are there so many people in and around the post office? It is one of the only places you can find a place to sit outside in downtown Yellowknife and all the main downtown shopping and government services intersect here. You can find the Centre Square Mall, the YK Centre, the Yellowknife Bookcellar, TD Canada Trust, the GNWT licensing services, the Gourment Cup (underneath the Bank), A&W Restaurant, Sushi North, and much more within footsteps of each other. And just up the block you can find places like the Black Knight Pub, Shoppers Drug Mart, Yummy Cafe, etc.

(Obviously) looks like this is the only mailbox rental centre in Yellowknife? Does anyone know the yearly rate and if you get a real street address or just a P.O. Box?

I pay annually for my mailbox and it is P.O. box only. Off hand, I do not know the annual amount but it is less than $200 per year.
