REVIEW: Sushi North, Japanese Restaurant in Yellowknife

As a matter of fact, yes we do have fresh quality Japanese sushi rolls in the arctic… When I first moved to Yellowknife I was concerned I would not have access to sushi. Thankfully, I had nothing to worry about. Having lived on the West Coast of Canada for 7 years prior to moving up North (again) I had plenty of sushi tasting experiences. Not a week went by without at least one visit to a Japanese sushi bar. Although, this is not the West Coast with a sushi bar on every corner, there is a fantastic little take-out style Japanese sushi restaurant in Yellowknife called Sushi North. You may have hear about it. 

I have dined at Sushi North in Yellowknife on many occasions. At least two to three times every month according to my bank statements. I have tasted nearly all the sushi rolls, nigiri and combination meal sets and I can honestly report that the sushi is just as good as any Japanese sushi bar on the West Coast. The quality and taste are consistently good and the rolls never fall apart. The service is always polite and (in my experience) the wait time is short (aproximately 5 to 10 minutes for your order of freshly rolled sushi to be ready). The restaurant is great for a fast meal service, take-out or to grab a quick bite to eat when you are on a lunch break.
