Musical Gold on the Streets of Yellowknife

Someone please give this guy an award for his regular golden performances on the corner of 50th Avenue and 49th Street Yellowknife! And someone else tell a recording company to record this guy. Everyday at lunch I leave my office and walk past this passionate street musician. And I have to say this outloud – he is better than many of the live musical acts I have seen or heard in recent years. He has a wonderful singing voice and he has the quality of a true storytelling singer. I often want to stop and talk to him about his music but I feel I would be interupting his vibe and disrupting people from dropping money into his guitar case.
It would seem that this young street musician has become a fixture of Yellowknife’s busiest downtown corner and created a positive musical atmosphere at an otherwise cold and drab intersection (and downtown). So much so, that he has made it into the day-to-day conversations of everyday Yellowknifer’s - who are more and more starting to acknowledge his talents and for bringing something creative life to the dusty streets of the city.
I am just going to put it out there. Stop and say hello to him once and a while. Give him the man the props he deserves.
