Gas Leak at the Yellowknife Inn!
Posted on 08. Oct, 2009 by Shane in Everything Else
There was a gas leak at the Yellowknife Inn today that prompted an evacuation of both the Inn and the Centre Square Mall. Inn guests, mall patrons and staff alike were scattered along 49th and 50th streets wondering what was happening while freezing during Yellowknife’s first taste of winter. The evacuation was so quick that many did not have time to grab a jacket or any other personal items. Some folks were wearing only t-shirts, which could not have been very fun considering it was -9 degrees Celcius with the wind chill. Police blocked off street access while the Yellowknife Fire Department got the situation assessed and under control. The scene was over in less than an hour and all was well in the end. Here are a few photos of the event below. Click on the images to enlarge them.

I miss the pictures of people freezing their *** off in their t-shirts. Nice post, however

Yes I wanted too but it did not seem polite at the time.
