Exploring Back Bay in Yellowknife
Posted on 02. Sep, 2009 by Shane in Mountain Biking Trips, Sightseeing, Yellowknife
Water, Sun, Boats, Bikes, Food, Beers and Ice Cream go well together. And all I had to do was explore the edges of Back Bay in Yellowknife by mountain bike to experience it all. During the last days of summer, Yellowknife’s Back Bay becomes energized by Yellowknifer’s getting in as much sun and fun as possible. And two of those days (captured below) were no exception as Yellowknife was out in full recreational force. Not an inch of water went un-sailed nor a road went un-ridden. Back Bay is located on the shores of Old City and Latham Island. You can find hidden docks, kayaks, sailboats, the Bullocks Bistro, the Wildcat Cafe and many other interesting things to see and do around this small body of water. See for yourself…

Enjoyed the photos, I spent 30years in YK and sailed extensively on the lake a lot of it in the evenings in Back Bay and around Jollife and Mosher Islands as an evening cruise
