I pay annually for my mailbox and it is P.O. box only. Off hand, I do not know the annual amount but it is less than $200 per year.

(Obviously) looks like this is the only mailbox rental centre in Yellowknife? Does anyone know the yearly rate and if you get a real street address or just a P.O. Box?

Hi Jake,

There are many hidden away mountain biking locations in the area and some require driving to. Within Yellowknife we have Tin Can Hill, the road to Vee Lake (and the side road near the boar launch), ride out to the Yellowknife River and back, the Ski Club trails, and the road to Fiddlers Lagoon (offers some muddy side trails). Yellowknife is flat and rocky so you won’t get the intense mountain trails you will see on parts of Vancouver Island but simply riding around Yellowknife and area you will discover trails and other things to explore. Roads lead to trails, trails lead to roads, etc. Make sure you bring bug spray.

Hi, I’m Yellowknife visiting family for a week. i brought my mountain bike and am looking to ride. Which trails do your recommend? I’m from Vancouver Island and have lots of mtnbiking experience.

I was testing a new lens too. No stock requests for these ones yet. There were a lot of paparazzi from around the world there and a few recognizable photographers often featured in popular photo magazines too.

Hi Shane,
Thanks for the great tips. A friend and I did this hike this morning and it was gorgeous! I wonder, though, have you been back recently since you made this post? We actually lost our way and didn’t ever find the high point and vista that you described but rather ended up on the shore of the lake. The trail markers seem to decline in number dramatically after about half an hour of hiking. If you or anyone else familiar with the route is back on the trail in the future, maybe the trail markers could be renewed. Thanks so much for your blog – it’s a great resource for visitors to wonderful Yellowknife!
