Aurora Borealis in Yellowknife, August 31, 2009
Posted on 01. Sep, 2009 by Shane in Aurora Borealis, Sightseeing
The Aurora Borealis (aka. the Northern Lights) slowly hit the sky above Yellowknife, Northwest Territories tonight – almost like it did not want to be noticed. Around 12:05 am mindnight - the glowing bands of colour slowly krept over a lightening storm far out above Great Slave Lake. You can see the lightening strikes at the bottom of some of my photos below. It was not a big aurora show tonight but the lightening (too far away to hear) made it an interesting visual to witness.
