Aurora Borealis in Yellowknife, April 12, 2008

My first decent set of photos of the Aurora Borealis in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. I was using a Sony DSC-H9 with a 15 second shutter speed. The temperature was -35 degrees and the windchill was approximately -47 degrees. Luckily I had a Canada Goose Parka while camped out on Frame Lake in Yellowknife.
I was a little obsessed with the Aurora this year but I think out of all the nights I camped out on the lake this was my favorite night of Aurora watching. It was loaded with many first’s including sub-storms, eerie metalic crunching sounds, massive tubes of flowing light, exploding light and a show from horizon to horizon to horizon to horizon (360 degrees). I did not sleep that night.
